Intelligent Decision Support Systems: Models, Methods and Applications

Decision making is a common activity in human beings’ daily life and is becoming more and more complex due to the existence of uncertainty and impreciseness or information overload in the era of big data. Such problems can be handled using the techniques of intelligent decision support systems, such as multi-criteria decision making, group decision making, multi-level decision making, linguistic decision making, text mining or recommender systems. The past few decades have witnessed the development and advancement of this area, but it is still needed to develop new models, methods and applications for intelligent decision support systems to tackle new challenges emerging in recent years.

This special session aims to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners working in related area to discuss the state-of-the-art in the development of models, methods and applications for intelligent decision support systems by sharing their new ideas and results, and to foster possible collaborations.

The theme falls within the scope of ISKE symposium, which covers the topics of Soft Computing and Fuzzy Systems, Optimization and Planning, Machine Learning and Computational Intelligence in the part of foundation of intelligent systems, as well as the topics of Decision Support Systems and Text Mining in the part of Knowledge Engineering and Management.

Scope and Topics

The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
  • Group and multi-criteria decision making under uncertainty
  • Multi-level decision making
  • Linguistic decision making and computing with words
  • Model-based or data-driven decision making in real-world applications
  • Development and application of decision support systems
  • Text mining and recommender system
